Talkin' 'bout My Generation

For those still interested in the debate over whether or not you can characterize a generation, you might want to check out tonight's American Forum, “What did you do in the Revolution, Mom and Dad? Debating the Boomers' Legacy of Social Change.” AU SOC professor Lenny Steinhorn will be talking about his new book, The Greater Generation: In Defense of the Baby Boom Legacy and debating the point it makes about the baby boomers with other academics.

If you're interested, you can attend the debate in person in the Mary Graydon Center University Club at 8:00 p.m. tonight or listen to it live on WAMU 88.5 FM.

Judging from the arguments the book has already started (see review and Steinhorn's rebuttal), it should be a lively discussion similar to the one we had in class last week over defining Generation Y.

2/16 Class Cancelled

I know it will break each of your hearts, but I need to cancel tonight's (2/16) class.

To accommodate for the missed class time, I will also move back the due date of your rhetorical critique by one week. Instead of being due on Feb. 21, the rhetorical critique will be due on Feb. 28.

Let me know if you have any questions.
